Haviylah, CPM
Haviylah is a professional and highly trained midwife. Her quality of leadership stems from the fires of experience. Her training began as a registered nurse in 1973. She began working in critical care and was promoted to head nurse after her first year of working. In 1979 she began working in Labor and Delivery where she took a very active part in helping approximately 250 to 400 births each month. During the next 10 years of working in labor and delivery she served as assistant manager and staff charge nurse. She also directed the Lamaze classes and was requested for most all natural deliveries. In 1989 she began to practice direct entry midwifery by assisting couples who had chosen to have their babies at home. There she was able to gain experience and knowledge of alternative ways, and assist birth outside of the hospital setting by participating in over 130 low risk home births. Now she is practicing as a Certified Professional Midwife after completing all the requirements by the North American Registry of Midwives, as required by Tennessee state law for professional midwifery. Haviylahâs caring heart and gentle hands as well as her previous medical experience is a great asset to our childbirth services.
