At Rose Creek Village, we love babies! The birth of a baby is one of the most intimate experiences of a woman's life. Each pregnancy and birth is unique, and should be personalized to meet one's own individual wishes. The physical, emotional, and educational needs of pregnancy and the birth process is best served by the assistance of professional Midwives, trained in the practice of Midwifery through education, apprenticeship and clinical experience. It is the goal of Rose Creek Village Childbirth Services that you gain a cherished and memorable experience as together we welcome your new baby into this world.
In many cases women have been robbed of the joy of giving birth. Whether you desire to birth in the privacy of your home with a midwife, or wish to have the gentle support of a doula at your hospital birth, Rose Creek Village Childbirth Services can help you. We are committed to helping women have a positive birthing experience.
Haviylah is a professional and highly trained midwife. Her quality of leadership stems from the fires of experience. Her training began as a registered nurse in 1973. She began working in critical care and was promoted to head nurse after her first year of working. In 1979 she began working in Labor and Delivery where she took a very active part in helping approximately 250 to 400 births each month. During the next 10 years of working in labor and delivery she served as assistant manager and staff charge nurse. She also directed the Lamaze classes and was requested for most all natural deliveries. In 1989 she began to practice direct entry midwifery by assisting couples who had chosen to have their babies at home. There she was able to gain experience and knowledge of alternative ways, and assist birth outside of the hospital setting by participating in over 130 low risk home births. Now she is practicing as a Certified Professional Midwife after completing all the requirements by the North American Registry of Midwives, as required by Tennessee state law for professional midwifery. Haviylah’s caring heart and gentle hands as well as her previous medical experience is a great asset to our childbirth services.
Ariel Dickerson is a natural born midwife. As the oldest daughter in a family of 9, Ariel cared for her siblings and was a great help at home. At age 13 she began going to births with Midwife, Haviylah and her assistants. There she would help care for the children while the birth was in progress. Ariel proved to be very helpful, gaining a nurturing heart early in life. Now Ariel and her husband David have 3 darling sons, Morgon, Ronan and Tristan. Ariel has completed all the requirements by the North American Registry of Midwives, as required by Tennessee State law for professional midwifery and is now practicing as a Certified Professional Midwife.
Being the daughter of a midwife, Shiphchah was influenced by her mother’s passionate love for birth. She heard many stories from parents and midwives, and grew up surrounded by the wonder and miracle of birth. She soon found a desire and a gift for midwifery awakened in her heart. Her name, meaning “handmaiden” is manifest in her caring hands and loving touch, and she is a comfort to many a laboring mother. She is the wife of Zemar, and a mother of two delightful girls, Ethny and Sabrina, both born at home. She has been attending births and studying midwifery for the past 5 years. She is a graduate of the Texas Midwifery School and will take the North American Registry of Midwifery exam February 20, 2008.
