The families of Rose Creek Village gathered together on Saturday evening, August 4, 2007, to celebrate the graduation of their senior class of 2007. The evening began with a procession of 9 of the 10 positive and confident students singing, “Arise Shine!,” a song the students had written together. The village leaders and parents shared testimonies and inspiring words with the students and audience that evening. The students of Rose Creek Village Academy are collectively homeschooled under HomeLife Acadamy. Their focus of education has been on academics as well as equipping them to serve and follow God using the gifts and talents that God has given them. We have found it most important for parents and teachers to work together to see, understand, love, and nurture each student individually. Every child is unique in their abilities. Some are obviously high achievers and bestow an assortment of talents. Then others are more quiet and hidden, yet beneath the surface is something wonderful, desiring to be discovered. As parents and teachers we are privileged to have the honor of drawing these special gifts out of our children, guiding them to use their talents to serve and follow God with a greater capacity. These students are not encouraged to desire fame or fortune, but rather to pursue the adventure of seeking first the kingdom of God. On that special evening, each and every village parent, whether their natural son or daughter was part of the graduation class or not, felt an overwhelming sense of pride. These are our children, they have done well, and we are very pleased. May they run the race with great perseverance together! May the love that they have received fuel them to be a voice to the nations proclaiming the love of our Father.
