Rose Creek Village

A Demonstration of the Life of God

A VillageFest Report

by Ed K.

We came to the village in Sept., 07 before the “VillageFest” and the “Ingathering”. We witnessed the frantic activity for the three weeks before the VillageFest. Everyone was so busy and occupied. From dawn to dusk the hustle and bustle was almost overwhelming. Finally the big day arrived. It was awesome. More than the performances the life of the performers was evident. Yes, the show was great, but the demonstration of Christ was seen without a word. Love and joy shined through the people. God’s life was manifested in a most grandeur fashion. Each life was part of a whole, and the glory of this life could not be denied. It was a kiss and a warm embrace of Jesus to an audience of lonely and empty-hearted, deprived seekers. Each heart must have cried out for more. Mine did.

The day of the VillageFest came and went too quickly. But there was more—so much more! The following days were coming with an anticipation. This anticipation was not mine but an air that permeated the atmosphere and grew more thick and weighty as the weekend drew near. There was much that was happening but I could only sense it. I will speak only of two piercing messengers that broke through this natural cloud to reveal God’s light to me. The first was directly to my spirit. It was the time just before the baptisms. The morning was warm and bright. Many, young and old, had gathered in the field around a water-filled horse trough. We were expecting a witness from God. I was walking around the outside of the circle watching and waiting. As I looked over the heads of all these lovers of God, I saw two dragon flies. They were flying about twelve feet in the air next to one another as if they were on a mission. They went to and fro over the crowds back and forth two or three times. It was at this time that my spirit awakened as quickly and powerfully as if an arrow from God pierced my soul. “Of course,” my soul exclaimed. These devourers of flies were clearing the atmosphere as a picture of God’s angels clearing the atmosphere of dark angels from Satan, Beelzebub, the Lord of Flies.

The second event happened that Saturday night. We were fellowshipping and eating under the tent far out in the fields. At one point Kallah picked up her guitar and climbed up on top of a picnic table. She was soon playing and many of the young teenage girls gathered around her to sing. Suddenly another arrow from God struck and found my heart. It was pierced, and I was soon weeping. God’s love overwhelmed me. I saw God’s love and purity and through these young women. I saw an innocence that in the world I might only see in a six- or seven-year-old. Is this heaven on Earth? Surely not, but it is something greater than I have ever seen. God’s life is here. God’s love is here. It is being expressed in a powerful corporate way here at Rose Creek Village, my new home.
